The list published on Wednesday includes major local private banks such as Bradesco, Nubank and Itaú Unibanco, as well as Brazil's largest lender, Banco do Brasil, and local stock exchange B3. Multinational companies such as Visa and Microsoft have also been selected to participate in the project. The Central Bank of Brazil will begin to include participants in the “Digital Real Pilot” platform in mid-June 2023. According to previous news, in March this year, the Central Bank of Brazil announced the launch of a CBDC pilot project, which is planned to be put into public use by the end of 2024.
