Taiwan's encryption platform Steaker has been sued for allegedly illegally raising 1.48 billion New Taiwan Dollars.

According to Gate.io News bot, as reported by the United Daily News, the Taiwan encryption wealth management platform Steaker has been sued by the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for allegedly illegally raising approximately NT$1.48 billion over a period of three years due to its launch of a Virtual Money investment program, targeting its founder Huang Weixuan and three others.

Steaker subsequently issued a statement emphasizing that it has never engaged in any illegal activities and expressed disappointment at the prosecution's lawsuit. The statement pointed out that virtual assets are not legal tender, and the platform only provides virtual asset allocation services, without involving the receipt or exchange of legal currency.
