Lebanese President visits Iraq, both sides look forward to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

On June 1, local time, Lebanese President Aun arrived in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, to begin an official visit to the country. On the same day, Aoun held separate meetings with Iraqi President Rashid and Iraqi Prime Minister Al-Sudani Al-Sudani to hold consultations on Iran-Lebanon relations and cooperation in various fields, and to exchange views on the latest developments in the regional situation. At the meeting, Rashid said that bilateral relations between Iraq and Lebanon are solid, and expressed his firm willingness to deepen and develop bilateral relations with Lebanon. Rashid pointed out that Iran and Lebanon should strengthen cooperation and trade in various fields. At the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed that the Government and people of Iraq firmly support Lebanon and will always work together with the Lebanese people to resolutely oppose any external act that violates Lebanon's sovereignty or interferes with its independent will. Iraq will continue to provide assistance and support to Lebanon to assist it in meeting the current challenges.
