The U.S. Trade Representative stated that the tariff policy will basically remain unchanged.

On August 3, Jin10 reported that on August 3 local time, U.S. Trade Representative Greer stated that the new round of tariffs imposed by President Trump on multiple countries last week is "basically set" and will not be adjusted in the current negotiations, including a 35% tariff on goods imported from Canada, a 50% tariff on Brazil, a 25% tariff on India, and a 39% tariff on Switzerland. Greer said that some tariffs are set based on the situation of bilateral trade surpluses and deficits, "these rates are basically fixed."
