Ethereum's latest ACDE meeting: Discuss Mainnet activation preparations and multiple EIPs for the Dencun upgrade

Christine Kim, VP of Research at Galaxy, published a summary of the 181st Ethereum Core Developer Executive Layer Meeting (ACDE), which discussed preparations for the Mainnet activation of the Dencun upgrade and several Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs). These include EIPs proposed for Pectra upgrades, as well as two retroactive EIPs, EIPs 7610 and 7523, which aim to modify Smart Contract creation rules and prohibit the existence of empty accounts. The developers also agreed to include EIP 2537, which is the addition of BLS12-381 curve precompilation, in Pectra. Preparations for the shadow fork of the Dencun upgrade are underway, with the goal of completing the Mainnet activation by March 13. In addition, other technical proposals for the Pectra upgrade were discussed, including improving the Smart Contract capabilities of externally owned accounts (EOAs), gas costs for allocating Smart Contract Address and storage tanks, and proposals to support stateless clients. The developers plan to have a detailed discussion of all account abstraction and EVM-related code changes before the next ACDE meeting, and emphasize the importance of determining a timeline for the Pectra upgrade.
