Another peacekeeper from the UNIFIL was shot and injured by gunfire.
On October 12, Jin10.com reported that a peacekeeper at the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in Naqoura was shot on the evening of the 11th due to ongoing military activities in the area. He underwent surgery to remove the bullet at the Naqoura hospital and is currently in stable condition. It is not yet clear what caused the shooting. The statement reminded all parties of their obligation to ensure the safety of UN personnel and premises, including avoiding combat operations near UNIFIL camps.
