Amazon plans to invest $10 billion to build a data center in North Carolina to expand its AI business.
Gate News bot message, Amazon announced on Wednesday that it will invest $10 billion to build a new data center in North Carolina as part of its plans to expand artificial intelligence and cloud computing infrastructure.
The company stated in a statement that this investment is expected to support new compute-intensive workloads and help Amazon expand its ability to enable businesses to build with artificial intelligence.
North Carolina Governor Josh Stein stated: "Amazon's investment is one of the largest in the state's history, bringing hundreds of high-paying jobs and providing an economic boost to Richmond County."
The company stated that this funding "will support the future development of artificial intelligence at the AWS data center in North Carolina" and will create at least 500 high-skilled jobs in the process.
