Hyperlane is preparing to introduce its new token HYPER to users with an airdrop event taking place on April 22.
The interoperability protocol Hyperlane, which enables asset and message transfer between blockchains, has announced its eagerly awaited token airdrop plans. According to a statement from the Hyperlane Foundation, users can check whether they are eligible to receive HYPER token through a special portal that will be opened until April 13.
Hyperlane allocates a significant portion of the tokens to be distributed directly to the community. According to the announcement, 57% of the total supply will be distributed to users, while 25% will go to the core team, 10.9% to investors, and 7.1% to the foundation's treasury. There will be no lock-up period for the tokens to be distributed to the community, but the tokens of the core team and investors will remain locked for the first 12 months.
Hyperlane will not only be satisfied with rewarding early users. The project is also launching a new incentive program called "expansion rewards" that will be distributed at the end of each quarter based on the activities on the network of developers and users. In this way, Hyperlane plans to transfer the governance of the protocol to developers and end users in the long term.
The co-founder of Hyperlane, Nam Chu Hoai, stated regarding the matter, "This first distribution is just a beginning. In the coming years, the governance of the protocol will be handed over to the developers and users of Hyperlane," giving the good news of a community-focused structure.
