Cardano founder Hoskinson: Ethereum will not survive

Cardano's founder Charles Hoskinson stated during a Q&A event he held on Wednesday that Ethereum will not be able to survive in the next 10-15 years.

Hoskinson argued that users and developers would gradually move towards more efficient and scalable platforms. He also likened Ethereum to BlackBerry, which once dominated the mobile phone market but fell victim to the success of the iPhone.

Hoskinson claimed that the Ethereum Foundation made three fundamental mistakes:

Incorrect protocols: The calculation model, virtual machine architecture, and consensus structure are faulty; the Proof-of-Stake implementation does not work robustly enough.

Economy and Layer-2 structure: The mechanisms of slashing (punishment) that weaken the security of the network and the main chain weakening of Layer-2 solutions.

Insufficient layer management: The lack of a robust on-chain governance model capable of effectively addressing rapidly emerging issues.

Hoskinson's criticisms have found support as Ethereum has lost 46% of its value against Bitcoin this year. As investor unease grows, the future of Ethereum remains one of the most discussed topics in the industry.
