Cryptocurrency users did not achieve 'basic situational awareness' at events: Kraken

Participants at the cryptocurrency conference are at risk due to a lack of "basic situational awareness" and security measures, according to Kraken. The security team of this exchange noted a concerning trend where many devices such as laptops and phones were left unlocked on tables while wallet notifications pinged in real-time. Security director Nick Percoco emphasized that digital devices are not only tools but also treasure troves of assets.

Fraudsters also participate in cryptocurrency events, easily creating fake identities and exploiting insecure connections. They may use "juice jacking" to install malware. Percoco recommends using temporary wallets with limited funds for conference activities to protect core assets.
