A sophisticated money laundering gang in Queensland, accused of transferring 123 million dollars America in illegal funds through cryptocurrency, has been dismantled.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Queensland United Organised Crime Force (QJOCTF) carried out 14 raids, seizing US$110,370 in cryptocurrency, US$30,000 in cash, and many other assets. At the center of the case is a security company in Gold Coast, which is accused of laundering money from drugs through front companies and cryptocurrency exchanges. Among the four charged, there was a 32-year-old man who was accused of laundering $6.16 million through a promotion company. This case reflects the growing link between cryptocurrencies and organised crime in Australia.
