Trump believes that Central Bank Digital Currencies may threaten the stability of the financial system. The traditional financial system has developed and been regulated over a long period, making it relatively stable, whereas Central Bank Digital Currencies, as a new form of money, may bring some uncertainties and risks in terms of issuance and circulation, such as affecting the Money Supply, Interest Rate control, etc., which may impact the existing financial stability structure.
- Catering to the Crypto Assets industry: After Trump took office, his attitude towards Crypto Assets changed, as he attempted to turn the U.S. into the "global crypto capital." He gained support from the Crypto Assets industry, while the Crypto Assets industry may have concerns about Central Bank Digital Currencies, fearing that they could disrupt the existing Crypto Assets market. Therefore, Trump's commitment may be aimed at catering to the interests and demands of the Crypto Assets industry.
