The Solana core development team has released a new proposal, SIMD-0286, which aims to increase the computation limit per block from 60 million to 100 million computation units (CUs), a 66% increase, intended to further enhance network throughput to meet the high-demand applications of Decentralized Finance, NFT minting, and DePIN. Previously, Solana had raised the limit to 60 million through SIMD-0256 on July 23, achieving a daytime transaction processing capacity of approximately 1,700 transactions per second. If the proposal is approved, the upgrade will be implemented in future releases and will automatically take effect in a designated epoch after validators complete the upgrade. (TheBlock)
