On July 25, Jin10 reported that Fed Chairman Powell has told several close friends and allies that he will never yield to calls from Trump to resign and vowed to stay in his position. According to insiders, Powell privately emphasized that he must remain in office, which is not only for personal reasons but also because his position's fate is inextricably linked to the independence of the Fed. Republican Senator Mike Rounds, who had personally asked Powell if he was considering resigning, stated, "He firmly believes that he has a responsibility to uphold that independence."
