Solana DePIN ecosystem April revenue hits a new high, multiple projects see strong rise.
Solana DePIN Ecosystem Revenue Hits New High, Analysis of Major Projects Performance in April
The Solana ecosystem's decentralized physical infrastructure network ( DePIN ) sector achieved its best performance of the year in April. Data shows that the sector's total revenue in April reached $458,000, marking a year-on-year increase of 33%, setting a new high for the year. This impressive result is mainly attributed to the steady growth of several key projects.
Despite record high revenues, the number of active contributors to the DePIN protocol has slightly decreased. Currently, the main projects collectively maintain about 87,000 active contributors. Notably, the number of contributors for smaller DePIN protocols significantly increased in April, with some projects experiencing growth rates exceeding 100%. In contrast, the number of contributors for larger projects has remained relatively stable or slightly declined.
The following is a review of the performance of major DePIN projects in April:
Dabba Network
This is a DePIN project aimed at the Indian market, deploying Wi-Fi hotspots in collaboration with local cable operators. During the period from March to April, its cumulative data consumption doubled to 8000TB, device sales increased by 29%, and the network scale further expanded.
Helium Mobile
As a mobile virtual network operator, Helium Mobile saw a surge of 125% in new subscription users to 36,000 after launching a free plan. Revenue in April reached a historic high of $250,000, an increase of 34% month-over-month. Among these, the data offloading business accounted for 79%. The daily average offloading subscription volume and data volume increased by 65% and 32%, respectively, both setting new records.
It is worth noting that the number of active contributors to Helium has recently shown a slight declining trend, currently stabilizing at around 75,000.
XNET
This is another decentralized mobile network project. In April, the data offloading business of XNET continued to grow steadily for the 8th month, with a month-on-month increase of 16% in daily offloading volume. Despite a 6% decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors still grew by 6% to 732, setting a new historical high.
Roam
In April, Roam added 535,000 WiFi nodes and 87,000 new users, bringing the total number of nodes close to 4 million and the number of users nearly 3 million. Although the monthly user check-in volume decreased by 19%, the cumulative check-in times have surpassed 300 million, indicating that user engagement remains strong.
Shaga
Shaga provides idle GPU computing power support for Web3 games. It currently covers 74 GPU models, offering 33.12TB of storage and 15.27Gbps of throughput capacity. In the past two months, Shaga has achieved 4,500 interactive game live broadcasts, totaling 50,000 hours.
Hivello
As a DePIN resource aggregation platform, Hivello's online duration in April doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.
Nosana
This is a decentralized GPU computing network focused on AI inference tasks. In April, the job completion volume and contributor rewards of Nosana saw a slight increase, and GPU nodes remained stable. The newly launched AI collaboration project is expected to further drive growth.
Sallar.io
Sallar utilizes the idle computing power of devices such as smartphones to support high-performance computing. In April, the dollar rewards increased to $11,800, a month-on-month increase of 27%, while the number of active wallets remained stable.
Grass
Grass provides data sources for AI training and other purposes through the idle bandwidth of user devices. The data collection volume in April set a new record, reaching 34.5 million GB.
Wingbits
This is an aviation data collection network. Since November last year, Wingbits has tracked the number of flights increasing to 150,000, with daily data points collected rising to 9 billion, an increase of 7% and 29% respectively. The number of contributing sites has also increased by 43% to 3,000.
Hivemapper
This is a decentralized mapping network. In April, Hivemapper's monthly mapping mileage remained stable, and the AI platform for fleet management was officially launched. Since February, the number of active map contributors has stabilized at around 5,000.
NATIX Network
NATIX Network collects street view data through devices such as smartphones. In April, user-driven mileage maintained at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Sourceful Energy
This is a decentralized virtual power plant project. In April, power output increased by 30%, and the newly launched smart energy efficiency analysis devices received 500 reservations, with growth momentum expected to continue.
Ambios Network
Ambios Network is a large-scale environmental monitoring network. In April, the cumulative user data check-ins exceeded 2 million times, with a month-on-month growth of 12%. The total number of platform users has increased to 45,000, with a year-on-year growth of 2%.
Overall, the Solana DePIN ecosystem showed a steady growth trend in April, with highlights in various segments. With more innovative applications emerging and an expanding user base, this sector is expected to maintain a good development momentum.
