In 2025, Vietnam Blockchain Week will be held for the first time in Hanoi, taking place from August 1 to 2 at the National Convention Center. The Vietnamese government has recently made significant progress in the regulation of digital assets, demonstrating a clear determination to establish a legal framework for the industry and promote its development.
In October 2024, the government released the "National Blockchain Technology Development Strategy," planned to be implemented in 2025, aimed at strengthening the country's infrastructure and promoting Vietnam as a regional leader in blockchain technology applications.
Starting from the end of 2024, the Congress will begin reviewing the "Digital Technology Industry Law", which clarifies the legal definition of digital assets and proposes to pilot digital asset trading platforms in major financial centers such as Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
The government also issued directives requiring the comprehensive legal framework for digital assets, including virtual assets and service providers, to be improved by May 2025.
