Rollup Platformization New Paradigm: Innovation and Potential of Lumoz

Environment-Driven Rollup Changes

As the number of Ethereum users continues to increase, the network is becoming increasingly busy, especially during primary offering activities, where gas fees often rise sharply. At the same time, due to the continuous increase in the price of ETH tokens, high transaction fees have hindered the possibility of small transactions. Therefore, improving storage efficiency, transaction throughput, and reducing transaction delays are very important for the development of Ethereum.

Traditional Layer 1 scaling solutions generally include two forms: On-chain and Off-chain. On-chain refers to updates and optimizations made on Layer 1 by changing the consensus mechanism, implementing sharding, and increasing block size; Off-chain refers to off-chain scaling, mainly including sidechains and Layer 2 solutions. The biggest difference between sidechains and Layer 2 is that sidechains operate based on their own security protocols, while Layer 2 operates based on the mainnet's security protocol. Therefore, from a security perspective, Layer 2 is often superior.

In the past development, the implementation logic of Layer2 involved off-chain centralized computation processing of information, with results transmitted on-chain, which not only improved the computational efficiency of transactions but also fully utilized the high security performance of the ETH mainnet. Currently, the mainstream implementation solutions of Layer2 include three types: Channel, Plasma, and Rollup. Since Rollup is essentially a further extension of the Plasma solution, it possesses higher security, state validity, and data verification capabilities, making Rollup the fundamental direction for the future development of Layer2.

Who is better in Rollup?

There are two major branches in Rollup: one is Optimistic-Rollup and the other is ZK-Rollup. In Optimistic-Rollup, it is assumed that the transaction results submitted to the main chain are optimistic, under this assumption, there is no need to immediately verify each transaction, allowing for quick submission and processing of transactions; a challenge period of about a week is set, during which other validators can raise objections and submit corresponding evidence. If successful, the transaction will roll back, and the erroneous party will be punished. On the other hand, ZK Rollup immediately verifies the correctness of transactions through zero-knowledge proofs and ensures that transactions are almost 100% fraud-proof. Overall, ZK-Rollup provides higher security compared to Optimistic-Rollup, and there is no challenge period delay in transaction confirmation, making it more promising for application.

However, due to the technical implementation difficulty of ZK Rollup being far higher than that of Optimistic-Rollup, the mainstream market for Rollup technology is still occupied by Optimistic-Rollup.

Among them, a certain platform is currently the leader in Optimistic-Rollup, occupying 31.36% of the TVL share, while the corresponding platform only occupies 1.32% of the TVL share. Because of this, how to shape a standardized ZK-Rollup solution and gradually expand the application market of ZK-Rollup has become an important issue? The holistic solution that Lumoz can provide may become the key to breaking the deadlock.

Lumoz: A New Paradigm for Rollup Platform

Lumoz's Strong Background

Lumoz is a comprehensive ZK platform.

Lumoz network is a globally distributed modular computing network that, combined with the DePIN network, shapes a powerful, secure, and flexible computing platform to provide computing power support for ZK-Rollup, ZK ML, ZKP, etc. At the same time, Lumoz focuses on the construction of ZK-RaaS, aiming to provide a complete set of ZK Rollup deployment and implementation solutions to address various issues such as incompatibility among current ZK-Rollup solutions, centralization of computing power, and concentration of risks.

Lumoz: New Paradigm of Rollup Platform

has been deeply involved in the ZK field for many years

Unlike the numerous concept projects in the Web3 space, Lumoz has been deeply engaged in the ZK field for many years. Its founder, Nanfeng, has held executive positions at several top technology companies and investment firms, possessing rich technical knowledge and exceptional blockchain project management skills. It is this cutting-edge thinking that has led him to lead a team in exploring and researching the ZK field since 2018.

The development history of Lumoz includes important milestones such as the establishment of the project, multiple rounds of financing, renaming and brand revitalization, and node sales. Currently, Lumoz has completed multiple rounds of financing, with a valuation reaching 300 million USD.

In addition to its high valuation, Lumoz has also delivered a perfect performance in practice. Lumoz launched its testnet in May 2023, and so far has 28,403 POW nodes, 16 allowed Rollups, 470,000 ZKP submissions, and 20 million transactions.

On the technical side, Lumoz has launched ZK-Rollup Launchbase, increasing support for ETH, BSC, and the Polygon testnet, and providing various modular components such as data availability (DA) and shared sequencers. It has also realized several groundbreaking inventions such as the ZKP Two-step Algorithm, NCRC, zkVerifier node verification mechanism, and the highly compatible technology stack of Lumoz RaaS Launchbase. At the same time, the ZK computing of a certain chain and a certain platform is supported by Lumoz, and the technical implementation has been preliminarily realized.

Unified ZK Technical Solution

Lumoz provides a modular computing layer

Modular Rollup provides a new approach to solving the blockchain trilemma. Rollup generally decomposes the blockchain system into different modules, achieving a layered structure that enables more efficient transaction processing and data management, thereby balancing the issues of decentralization, security, and scalability to a certain extent. Conventional Rollup typically includes a settlement layer, an execution layer, a consensus layer, and a data availability layer.

In addition to the four levels of conventional Rollup, Lumoz also includes the Prover Layer, which provides censorship-resistant distributed computing, implements ZKP, and ensures the authenticity and validity of transaction states.

ZK computing resources + dual narrative of re-staking

Lumoz integrates powerful ZK computing resources with a re-staking mechanism through Lumoz Oracle, zkProver, zkVerifier, and Lumoz Chain, allowing users to re-stake tokens that have already been staked. Lumoz will enhance the security of its Active Validation Service (AVS); at the same time, the staked tokens will serve as collateral for nodes to prevent malicious behavior.

This process allows multiple verification servers to share a set of tokens, thereby improving resource utilization and computational efficiency, which is crucial for the high computational demands of ZKP generation; through re-staking, Lumoz can better support various EVM-compatible blockchain environments, such as Polygon EVM, Scroll, etc., increasing the platform's scalability.

Optimize ZKP computation and submission mechanism

Lumoz optimizes the ZKP computation and submission mechanism, supporting parallel computation and sequential submission of ZKP, breaking ZKP into multiple subtasks that can be computed on different zkProver nodes, and ultimately submitting the subtasks in the correct order.

In addition, Lumoz has proposed an innovative recursive aggregation algorithm for processing ZKPs, which can aggregate multiple ZKPs into a smaller ZKP, reducing the size and complexity of the ZKP through a recursive approach, thereby lowering the consumption of blockchain storage and computing resources.

the most compatible ZK-RaaS solution

The goal since the inception of Lumoz has been to provide the ZK-Rollup solution with the lowest deployment difficulty and the strongest compatibility. Now, the ZK-RaaS Launch Base supports all mainstream zkEVM technologies, allowing developers to easily deploy and launch ZK-Rollup through some simple operations.

Specifically, Lumoz's ZK-RaaS platform supports multiple architectural modes, including modular computing layers, native cross-Rollup communication, and customizable infrastructure services. These features enable the deployment of ZK-Rollup to transition from difficult to easy, possibly marking the beginning of a trend in ZKP applications.

Token Model

The Lumoz token economic model is a typical dual-token governance model, offering two tokens: MOZ and esMOZ.

MOZ is the native token of the mainnet, serving as a core asset of the mainnet. It can be used as gas fees for Lumoz mainnet transactions, and services such as ZKP and AI computing power provided by Lumoz require payment in MOZ, which can be exchanged for esMOZ at a 1:1 ratio.

esMOZ serves as an ecological governance token used for the construction and maintenance of the mainnet ecosystem. Lumoz provides esMOZ as a reward to incentivize mainnet power providers and node operators, and users use esMOZ for network delegation to complete decentralized governance.

It is worth mentioning that the exchange rate of esMOZ to MOZ changes over time, with different redemption periods and corresponding redemption rates. This redemption mechanism can alleviate the market pressure from miner tokens and effectively prevent large-scale redemptions of esMOZ after a hacker attack, thereby protecting the rights of MOZ purchasers.
