Dare to trade. Dare to win.
I'm thinking more and more that the hardest path in crypto is to stay on it.
The goal (in my opinion) is to stay on track for as long as possible
Here are my biggest lessons from cycles:
Biggest lesson from my first cycle (2016-2018):
- There is no such thing as easy money. Looking to buy coins that if you hold to be +ian the next ETH or BTC is a never-ending quest for most of us who are in this.
Why? Because in this market you need a combination of conviction, knowledge and luck alike.
Who would have thought that investing in a 17-year-old, with less technical knowledge than industry leaders, who looks different, would be the best investment of a lifetime?
Biggest lesson from my second cycle (2019-2021):
- Learning how to sell is just as important (if not more so) than learning how to buy.
My skills in understanding the market have improved exponentially over the past few years. I'm good at identifying narratives, being on the right technology at the right time.
I've bought projects that have gone to the moon, and in the second cycle I held some positions for being "diamond hands" that returned to their initial value after making a 10x.
I bought pudgy penguins at 4 ETH and sold them for % low thinking I was a genius, now they are at 18 ETH. I have a lot of them.
The game is to accumulate BTC, ETH and USD, the rest is just a way to get to this. (Until proven otherwise)
Biggest lesson from my third cycle (2022-present):
- I have at least 15 halvings ahead of me.
I've lived 3, I have 15 left. Patience is pressing, live day by day and don't make blunders or possible exponential gains.
I'm lucky enough to be in crypto right now, I'm not going to play "all or nothing" when it's a matter of time to have "everything" (I'll never have everything) but I'm more terrified of losing than winning. Again, I've already won.
My main task and goal is bullet shears, FTX shears, the Terra, the MTGox.
Today the best option is self-custody, not taking security lightly, and always being on the lookout for "shiny" goals that mostly end up being a slower path.
Burnout can cause you to sell everything and walk away
A scam could cause you to lose your entire portfolio and make you repulsive to return
A Hack Could Make Your Wealth Disappear in a Second
I still have a lot of lessons ahead of me, but one mantra is clear to me:
"Stay in the arena, stay in the game, stay in the way"
