Bloomberg Analyst Evaluated SEC's Recent Decisions, Shared Latest Predictions on XRP, Solana, and Litecoin Spot ETFs!
The approval of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs by SEC and the positive approach of the new SEC management to the cryptocurrency sector enabled many altcoins to apply for ETFs.
At this point, while ETF applications are being made for altcoins such as XRP, Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), analysts currently think that LTC has a higher chance of receiving ETF approval.
In a report published last week, Bloomberg analysts Eric Balchunas and James Seyffart*** specifically listed the approval probabilities of Litecoin, Solana, XRP and Dogecoin ETFs and the deadlines by which the SEC must decide.
Accordingly, analysts estimate the probability and dates for Litecoin at 90% – 02/10/2025; 70% for Solana– 10/10/2025; 65% for XRP – 17/10/2025 and 75% for Dogecoin – 18/10/2025.
While the SEC has accepted the evaluation of XRP ETF applications in recent days, Bloomberg analyst Eric Blachunas made important statements in a podcast he attended yesterday.
Balchunas, stated that it is a very important development for the SEC to consider XRP ETFs. According to the analyst, this development means that XRP and other altcoins with ETF applications may not be classified as securities by the SEC anymore.
Balchunas also pointed out that this situation also indicates a change in the treatment of cryptocurrencies in the United States, and added that the ongoing crypto cases opened by the SEC will also be re-evaluated.
Will there be altcoin ETF approval in 2025?
Eric Balchunas discussed the potential for other altcoins such as Dogecoin and Cardano to follow the same path as the XRP ETF.
While the SEC's latest move is an encouraging sign, there is still uncertainty about when the final decision will be made, the analyst said, adding that the possibility of a slight disapproval should not be ruled out.
Opening a separate parenthesis for Litecoin***, the analyst stated that LTC is the altcoin with the highest probability of ETF approval because it is similar to Bitcoin and is seen as a commodity, and they expect the LTC ETF to be approved in 2025.
Finally, referring to XRP and Solana, Balchunas said that while there is more uncertainty for SOL and XRP ETFs, the SEC's latest move paves the way for more applications and decisions to come in the coming months.
