The cryptocurrency exchange Triv ( Indonesia ) has just received a strategic investment from MEXC Ventures, valuing the company at 200 million USD. The investment is in the form of equity, not tokens, and is part of MEXC's expansion strategy in Southeast Asia. Triv, operating since 2015, has over 3 million users and offers spot trading, staking, derivatives, and more than 1,000 digital assets.

The agreement comes after Indonesia changed its cryptocurrency tax policy: domestic exchanges are subject to a 0.21% income tax, while foreign exchanges face a 1% tax, and buyers are exempt from VAT. These changes reflect the transfer of oversight from BAPPEBTI to OJK, aimed at institutionalizing the market.

Triv announced that the investment will help expand products, increase liquidity, and improve infrastructure, while still maintaining independent operational control. MEXC revealed that it will invest further in the region.
